Don't try to convince people with words

Actions have always spoken louder than words. 

If you are serious you must walk the walk and not just talk the talk.  If you want people to follow you then you must be a leader.  Lead by example.  Lead them to water and SHOW THEM how to drink.  Always be positive and be open to suggestions and do not be swayed by negative comments.  You can succeed if you are willing to help others succeed.  If you do not know how to do something never be too proud to open yourself up to learning.  Albert Einstein said, "Once you stop learning, you start dying." 
A good team can make the difference between success and failure.  Most of all do not confuse a good leader with a so called "guru."  A leader is always ready to learn but a supposed "Guru" might just think he or she knows it all and is not so quick to share their knowledge (that they might not really have).
